General Surgery

Misawa offers inpatient and outpatient general surgery capabilities.  A general surgeon is a specialist in the surgical care of intra-abdominal pathology, abdominal wall pathology, anorectal pathology, breast lesions, and skin lesions.  General surgeons also perform colonoscopies for colorectal cancer screening. To see the general surgeon, you need a referral from your primary care manager. If you are 50 years old and have never had a colonoscopy, please see your primary care manager for a referral today.
